Small But Powerful!!

My washing Machine arrived on the 17th November 2008, which happened to be a Monday. But from Monday till now (Thursday), I have not been able to connect the pipe to the washing tape without water leaking out from the joint. Tried using those white colour waterproof tap but can't work and end up the washing machine is sitting in the toilet while we are doing the job of the washing machine. Isn't that ironical when we pay for the washing machine and the washing machine is "shaking legs" while the owner is doing its job?!

However tonight will be history in the making. It will be the time when man will regain their freedom and rule over machines!! Muahahaha..... Cos I have something small yet powerful in hand and this is how it looks like.
Legend has rumored that this ring and bolt looking metal is able to prevent water from leaking out and is able to save mankind from the dominance of washing machine. Let me try it out tonight and I will update the outcome again. By the way, this cost only $1.50.

My Home Sweet Home

Finally........ our long awaited flat is ready for us to move in. Our completion appointment date with HDB was on the 17th November, but we can wait no longer and hence we negotiated with the previous owner and shifted in on the 15th November (saturday). We both had enough of the living condition of our rented flat. I know for sure if I don't move out fast, I might manifest BIG time even before pastor Mike Conner come. For some of you, you might be wondering why. I will write a blog on the living condition of our rented place once I have the time. For now, I'm SUPER BUSY trying to set up our new flat and of course with Asia Conference happening at the same time. However, in the mist of this busy and hectic schedule, I'm proud to present to everyone of you our newly acquired property at Pasir Ris. This is how it looks like now before renovation. Cool yah?

People has been asking me when will the house warming be. Honestly I don't have the answer yet as it's building fund season and it's really challenging building two house (own house and house of God) at the same time. Stephanie and myself have decided to focus on building God a BIG BIG stadium first for this period of 6 months before we focus fully on our own house. We believe that as we first build God a house, God will build us a BIG HOUSE + WONDERFUL HOME. Smart move yah?

A Leader Is A Reader!

The above statement is a statement made by my member Eugene (Who says members always learn from their leaders? There's so much that we can learn from one another). Little did Eugene knows that this statement which he had made had left such a deep impression in me even till this very moment while I'm blogging this post.

I used to be someone who don't see the value in books and in reading. However, things has changed since... can't recall exactly when but I strongly believe since the day Eugene made that remark. Somehow from then on, I begin to read and I love to read and I want to read even more. I had just made my pledge during our last weekend Arise and Build and guess what was my first temptation that I faced. It's not to buy new clothes, branded stuff, etc. However I have a craving desire to possess this book by Adam Khoo "Master Your Mind, Design Your Destiny". Monday after work, I actually detoured to EastPoint Shopping Mall just so I can go to Popular Bookstore to grab this book. I was thrilled when I found this book but...... I didn't get it anyway. I am waiting for my citibank credit card as I understand there's a 10% discount when purchasing book. Arise and Build session so have to be wise in my spending...

However, I'm proud to say I had successful complete another book by Adam Khoo titled "Secret to Self Made Millionaires (See Picture). Here's one of a very solid quote.
"Plans connect dreams to possibility and Actions connect Possibility to Reality"
This book is really a MUST read!! Trust me!!

A revelation that I had after reading this book is this, one can think like a millionaire, have a vision to be a millionaire but what makes millionaire millionaire is a millionaire heart. How great a person is is not how many zeros there are in his/her bank account. One's greatness comes from how many dreams of others are birth forth as a result of you realising your dream.

I'm The Descendant of Abraham!!

There was a famine (Global Recession) in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham (1997 Asian Financial Crisis). Then Issac (replace with your own name) sowed in that land (this weekend Arise and Build), and reaped in the same year (during this economic downturn)a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. Then the man(replace with your own name)began to prosper and continued prospering until he (you) become very prosperous!!

There was Global Recession in the land, besides the first recession that was in 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. Then Justin sowed in to this weekend Arise and Build, and reaped in the same year during this economic downturn a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. Is Employee an Asset or Expense?

Dear business owner, how do you know you have employed the right person for the job?

Many a times, when business owner do their accounting, employee's salary is often put under the company's expense column. But the question is, is this employee's salary really an expense to your company? If his/her salary can only fit in the expense column, then most likely you have employed the wrong person. Only if you can easily put his/her salary under your assest/investment column, then he/she is worth you hiring.

Dear business owner, here's a suggestion. Try changing your mindset and begin to see your employee's salary as an investment under assest column. If you find it very very hard to convince yourself to do that, most likely the right thing to do is to fire him/her and find one that you can easily put his/her salary as an investment under the asset column. When you find one that fit into this category, love and treasure him/her and see him/her as your investment. If you find a good investment, would you hesistate to pump in lots of money?

Gays at Citylink Toilet

Before I start this blog, I just want to let you know that I have nothing against gay. I have two friends that belong to this category but I'm ok with them. We respect each others' private lives and never talk much about that.

Here's my account on 16th October 2008, Thursday approximately about 9pm...
I just had dinner with a friend from London and we were looking for some CDs at HMV at Citylink. Just at that moment, I sense the call of nature and I know it's time for me to make some cake. I walked to the nearest toilet, the one beside a beach wear retail outlet which is just beside the newly furnished Charles and Keith. To my surprise, all the cubicles (I think should be 6-7 cubicles) were occupied. I was wondering how could that be because this is such a "ulu" toilet and that stretch of Citylink was not crowded at all. Anyway I waited and waited. Finally I heard a flushing sound from the first cubicle and I stood outside that cubicle...waiting....

Just then, a guy opened the door slightly and when I took a quick glance, I saw the toilet cover down and a lot of toilet paper on the floor. In my mind, I thought he must have messed up the toilet bowl and that's why he put down the toilet cover and walked out embarassed (actually it's sheepishly). He wriggled out of the slightly opened door, looked at me with a "femine" look and tried to close the door behind him. I didn't bothered much but just felt abit disgusted at the perceived dirty state of the toilet bowl.

For a split second, I thought I saw another person in the toilet. I was shocked but subconsciously my tummy told my arm to push open the door as I needed the toilet. In response to my pushing, someone from within pushed the door and tried to close the door. My sudden shock turned into ultimate disgust upon the realisation of what had just happened, and what could possibly taken place in that cubicle all this while.... I turn my head to looked at the guy who had just walked out and from a distance, he kept looking back.

Instantly, my nature call just hanged up and I lost all the momentum needed to make cake. I walked out of the toilet and promise myself that I will never go to that toilet again. Not because it's fully occupied, but because you never know who WERE inside (a cubicle) and what WERE they doing before you. My wife ever told me that her gay friend told her that Raffles Shopping Mall & Citylink is the hotspot for gays to pick each other up. I do not believe but tonight I don't have to believe anymore because I had seen it all.......

I can't help but wonder why are all the cubicles fully occupied and what other activities are really taking place inside all these cubicles....

Don't think!!!! I know you are thinking... I say don't think... See, there you are thinking again. Guess you must be feeling super disgusted and feel like puking now.

Birthday Celebration with My Dear!

Sakae Sushi @ Pasir Ris Central White Sand Shopping Mall. Japanese cusine is one of my favourite. I like raw food and of course my all time favourite wasabei. Note: If you need help for gate crashing to fetch your bride, and need a good wasabei eater, find me...haha... just kidding. But I really like wasabei!! Here we go for my birthday dinner.

Hmm....Let's see what is good. Guess the food is 'running' too fast. Do you know why Japanese food tends to be more healthy? Some say it's because Japanese cooking style uses less oil and less deep fried...hence they are less fattening. But I think there's other reason. One reason is that Japanese food go gym a lot. They like to run on treadmill just like what you see in a typical gym. But of course, we don't call that treadmill. We call that conveyor belt. Maybe Mcdonald and the various fast food outlet should make their food exercise and run on "treadmill". This should make fast food less fattening and healthier...haha... Me and my lame joke.

Wow!! Don't you agree that my dear look gorgeous??!!! She's my angel!!!

Time for me to look at the menu. A frog that finally jump out of his well and made a name for himself.

How can I not fall head over heel for her. She's my baby...

The arrival of our VIP. Soft Shell crab. Positioning himself for the surgeon...

Here comes the surgeon. Equipment need: 1 pair of wooden chopstick. Dignosis: Crab is down with a heart attack because of his high cholestrol level and Dr. Stephanie is currently conducting a heart bypass for him. Result: Failure. Got to dispose his body. Solution: Eat it, don't waste it!

Don't we look alike? Happily married. Match made in Heaven! She's my precious!!

A Son or A Servant?

Met up with brother Kelvin & Fen to celebrate Stephanie and my birthday. Yes, my darling and my birthday falls on the same month. Guess what, our birthday combination is same as that of my mom and dad. Same month, 3 days different and 3 years different. My mom and dad's birthday fall on the month of November, with my dad 3 years older than my mom and my mom birth date is 3 days earlier than my dad. Stephanie and my birthdays fall on the month of October, with me 3 years older than Stephanie and Stephanie's birth date is 3 days earlier than mine.

I never fails to enjoy meeting up with brother kel, he is like a big brother that watch over Steph and myself and seeing us growing up. To us, he is like a spiritual father as well as a big brother. He shared something that hit me real hard. He said this " A father will heed the voice of a son but a master will never listen to a servant." WOW!!! I believe he is in the best position to say this because he has a 10 months old boy (Denzel) and also a maid at home. After hearing that sentence, it really set me thinking that sonship is two way. Firstly, on one hand there must be a desire to be a son, and on the other hand, there must be a desire to be a father. And two sided communication is the key. A master and servant relationship only requires one way of communication; master speaks and servant listens...

Time for me to move on and never to turn back... It's not about us not being a son, it's because you have never adopt us.

Nordic-IT Asia Pte Ltd

This is where Nordic-IT Asia Pte Ltd is located. The address is called "Office By The Park". Hmm... I like the surrounding. It's like a outskirt paradise in the mist of the urban jungle of Tanjong Pagar. Come take a walk and enjoy the fresh air.

This is how the interior of Nordic-IT Aisa Pte Ltd is like. A very homely environment. The orientation of the picture is such that the door is on the extreme left. The bottom row is at the door side and the top row is the side opposite the door. The office is divided by two concrete walk into three section.

Of course with a walk way connecting the three section as shown above.

Tanjong Pagar~ My Second Home

Managed to take some pictures and did some editing to them. Tanjong pagar is like a second home to me. A place where I spend more than 8 hours of my time awake. It's my workplace. This is one of the most exotic and beautiful part of Singapore. A place where it marks the footprint of our past and the blueprint of our future. Here I am NOW!!

My Birthday Mug from Dear Dear

Above is a stylo milo mug from my beloved wife. It's for my birthday and I like it very much. Thanks dear.

It's not a very expensive gift but if you know me, I'm a very simple guy to "yang" (breed in chinese). I tend to appreciate the simple things in life and I will always find a reason to smile in good times or in bad times.... maybe, iIm very much like a mug, I'm simple and whether you pour hot or cold water in me, I'm still a mug.

hmmm... I like mug cos it gives a feeling of ownership. Places whereby I put a mug is a place I feel belong. As long as I don't feel belong, I will never bring a mug and put it there.

Example:
I'm staying in a rented room now so I don't have my own mug.
If I know I won't be staying long in a workplace, I won't bring my own mug there.

So you will kn0w whether if I feel belong to a company, a place, a room, etc by searching if there's a mug with me.

2008 Birthday Greetings. I'm officially 29 this year!!!

Which Gifts are Better?

Proverbs 18:16
A man’s gift makes room for him,And brings him before great men.

Do what you are Good at,
Excel in what you Do,
Grow in what you Excel.

BE,
A fish that swim in the water,
A Jarguer that runs on land,
A Monkey that climbs tree,
A Eagle that soar.

DON'T BE,
A fish that try to walk on land,
A Jarguer that try to take off from ground,
A eagle that climb tree,
A Monkey that swims.

Sound ridiculous? But that's what many of us are doing....

But why?
1) Fearful of others' opinion about you.
2) Envy of what others have.
(Note: Having desires are good. But envies are bad. Desires simply means you want something better but at the same time you are contented and give thanks as to what you have now. Envy is when you are constantly wanting what others have but never happy nor thank God for what he has given you.)
3) The grass looks greener on the other side.
4) Don't dare to be truthful to yourself

You live only once. Be honest to yourself, be a blessing to others and most importantly be faithful to what your Creator has deposited in you. No one gift is greater than another gift. Gifts from God are never meant for you to compare, but it's for you to be thankful to God and be responsible to grow this gifts and use them to bless others.

Who Do You Say I Am??

Just had a good fellowship with yapster for lunch at the coffeeshop nearby my place. Yapster had come all the way from Toa Payoh to Pasir Ris just to meet me. And what make this fellowship so precious was that he travelled all the way down by MRT and bus, not by car which I initially thought so. I really enjoyed my time with him. We ate and share about our lives as Christian, after which I introduce him to the beautiful and friendly neighbourhood of Pasir Ris. We parted after that but it was really a fellowship that I enjoyed. Like what I'd told Jack last week, that with all honesty, what I look forward to during service and cell group days are really the fellowship.

Back to the fellowship, bible says when two or three gather in His name, Jesus will be in our mist and this prove to be so truth. Every time I fellowship with Christians, there will bound to be revelation. This time round it was also true. We were sharing about the different trademark of the christian from the various church that we had come across. We concluded that Christians from Lighthouse are very good in healing, while christians from New Creation Church(NCC) are very good at receiving blessings from God. These conclusions are not unfounded. Recently a colleague shared; Mr. Kah, shared with us that he knows of this Christian from NCC. This brother from NCC is super rich, a multi-millionaire and he attributes every blessing to God and always very thankful towards God. However he live a very promiscious life and cheated in his business but yet he is always prospering. On the other hand, for the last few nights I had been fellowshipping with some Christians from Lighthouse and they shared countless of healing testimonies. Wow!! It was like miracles after miracles as if a Bennyhinn crusade is ongoing on every weekly service and cell group. Just as bible says, as a man think so he is. How true this verse is.

At that very instant, as we were sharing about the trademark of the Christians from different churches, suddenly I begin to understand Jesus's conversation with Peter in Matthew 16:13-17.

13When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

So often as Christians, we defined Jesus by that one unqiue and life changing experience/encounter we had with Jesus. For example, a person that is dying and miraculously healed by Jesus will say that Jesus is his/her healer and whenever they share with others about Jesus, they declare and potray a picture of God IS a Healer. On the other hand, a person that is on a point of bankruptcy and miraculously saved by Jesus of His bankruptcy and became so prosperous will testify that Jesus is his/her Blesser. I guess this is what Jesus mean when he say flesh and blood in verse 17. We define and conclude who Jesus is by that one life changing encounter. After which we go around testifying of Jesus like what those people in verse 14 did. However, this is and will never be a complete picture of who Jesus is. Jesus wants us to know Him in totality, not just in parts. That's why when Simon Peter said that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God,it was such a powerful knowing and truth that Jesus declare this, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven." It was after this declaration that Jesus goes on to say 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed[d] in heaven.”

The fullness of living a victorious Christian life is a result of knowing who really Jesus is (by communion with the Holy Spirit-Relationship) and not by that one life changing encounter. A life changing experience is for that Kiaros time, Jesus has moved on so we need to. There's so much of God to explore.

How Long Have You Been Unbelieving??!

Mark 9:20-27
"Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. 21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” 23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe,[a] all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose"

This was our offering message for tonight. As Eugene was reading through this account in the bible about how Jesus healed a boy, I was particularly captured by the two sentences that Jesus asked the father of this boy (as you can see in red above). What stuck me was that instead of asking what is the cause of the boy's condition, Jesus's first question/sentence was "how long have this been happening?" and the second time Jesus spoke was " If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." To sum up this two sentences, Jesus is asking the boy's father, "how long have you been unbelieving?" WOW!!! What a powerful question that reveals the condition of our heart!!

At certain point of time in life there will be doubts in our heart towards the promises of God. The question that Jesus was asking in this incident was not why do you doubt. Jesus wasn't even asking what or who is the cause of this boy's suffering. In this context, Jesus was asking something even deeper; a unbelief/doubt that has not been dealt with for a considerable period of time, a unbelief that has been nursing inside his heart for a long time. To Jesus, it's not about finding the cause or who is at fault that matters. To Jesus, every answer/solution to our situation, our career, our finances, our relationship, lies in whether do we believe in the word of God. Finally the father of this boy decided to take responsibility over his heart condition. He decided to stop running, to stop procrastinating, to stop blaming life itself, to stop blaming others, but to face and deal with the doubts that he had been hiding inside the core of his heart since the boy was young. This was when finally he said enough is enough and came broken before Jesus (v24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears...) and confess to Jesus the condition of his heart(v24b...help my unbelief!) and repent (v24b Lord, I believe....). This was when the breakthrough which all along was his finally come into reality.

Beach Volley Ball "Barbecue" Session

Finally our long awaited 30th August has arrived. We woke up early this morning, each making our way from various place; many from home and some from work, to our RV point at Vivocity Level 3 Sentosa Express ticketing booth. As usual, some of us visited toilet, buy this, buy that and by the time we leave Vivocity, guess what, it is about 12pm. This is slighlty more than 1hr later according to what we had initially planned.

When we reached Siloso beach, there was a sea. Of course not the sea and beach kind of sea, here I'm taking about a sea of people playing volleyball. We thought we might be able to get a volleyball court thinking that we were still early. But alas, there was a volleyball competition going on and out of all the courts, only two were left for public usage. Guess we just have to make do with the beach. Changyan, Gloriane, Stephanie and myself started playing first while Eugene and Eric were making their way here. The sun was blazing hot and the beach was literally scorching our feet. For a split moment, I wonder are all Thaipusum burning Charcoal walkers all volleyball trained? Treading our feet on the beach seems like walking on burning coal...IT'S HOT!!!!

After playing for just about 10 minute (passing volleyball in our circle of 4), I totally entered into a state of "daze". It was so unbearably hot that I decided to call for a time out. To my surprise this time out comes in timely and very much needed as everyone of us is feeling the heat and close to natural combustion. Soon, Eric and Eugene reached and the first thing they head for, a soak into the sea. They were close to their melting point. Somehow most of us felt lethargic due to the heatwave, other than our hearthrob Changyan who's so full of energy and strength. He reminded me of those years when I was younger and hyper active. Likewise he reminded me how far different I had "mutated" over the years.

Back to the beach, the rest of the people started playing and now Stephanie and myself went for a dip in the sea. While we were soaking in the water, Eugene came to us and told us that Eric had gotten a court. Amazing yet nothing amazing. Amazing because Eric is always so resourceful and he click and build rapport with people as easy and natural as us breathing air. Nothing amazing because this is Eric and to him, it's a in born gift of building rapport with anyone, anywhere. They had a match with another team and they won with ease. Why with ease? Because the moment changyan or yongqing serve the ball over, the points are secured without any retaliation...

A tall and lean young man walk up to me and asked me if i recognised him. To be honest, I don't recognised him at all (Yang Yang, if you ever read this, please forgive me). After revealing his identity, I was totally dumbfounded. This person is non other than my long time friend victor's younger brother; Chuen Yang (we have been calling him Yang Yang since his primary school). He has grown from a chubby boy to become such a tall, lean and handsome fine young man and he is currently serving his NS and will ORD this November. Time really flies. Look at him and look at me and you will know what I meant.

Together with Yang Yang and his team, we played Captain ball. Within 10 minute of intensive running, jumping and yelling, both teams were exhausted and we ended the match with Yang Yang's team winning. My team suffered most "damages". Our joints and muscles are giving way and we were totally exhausted. It is at this moment we realised we forgotten that we had left something barbequeing and they were totally burnt!!! They were our bodies. Almost everyone of us were so well barbequed that we resembled lobsters. The person that was most well BBQ was Eugene and followed by both Stephanie and myself. We were in pain.......help....

It's currently 2am 31st August as I'm typing this entry. Stephanie and myself felt asleep at about 930am and we completely knock out after applying Aloe Vera Gel on our sunburnt body. I woke up at 130am feeling thirsty and went to the kitchen to get a drink, only to remember that I promised Stephanie that I will wake up in the middle of the night to hang up our washed clothes (still washing in the washing machine before we felt asleep). After drinking, I hung up the clothes and here I am writing this entry beside my sleeping Stephanie. She's currently in pain from the sunburn. Once a while when she tossed around on the bed, she will say "Ouch Ouch...". That's all for this entry.

Oh, one last thing, I thought that Eric is very much like Naruto. Today when I saw him walking alone down towards the sea and standing from afar looking at a group of youth like himself playing with their friends, for that instant, he reminded me of Naruto. If you are a fan of Naruto (like myself), you will know what is precious to Naruto and why this is precious to him, then you will understand why I say Eric reminds me of Naruto.
